PHOENIX--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
Avnet,
Inc. (NYSE: AVT),
a leading global technology distributor, today announced that Christian
Goehring, logistics support supervisor for Avnet, has been named a "30
Under 30 Rising Supply Chain Star." This recognition program, sponsored
by ThomasNet and ISM, honors up-and-coming supply chain professionals
who are creating a meaningful impact in the industry.
This is the second year that the "30 Under 30" program has recognized
the accomplishments of young supply chain professionals who are already
making significant contributions to their organizations. Goehring was
recognized for his efforts in significantly reducing freight costs of
more than seven figures for Avnet.
Avnet offers transportation services that help its customers optimize
their complex global supply chains. As a member of Avnet's global
transportation team, Goehring uses data analytics to determine the best
product shipment solutions for Avnet customers. With responsibility for

logistics, he leveraged the real-time analytics on cost, carrier
performance and customer shipments to drive optimal decisions. He
reviewed millions of data elements to create customized, ad-hoc and
standard reports that highlighted improvement opportunities on cost and
service.
"Customers and suppliers look to Avnet to help them efficiently deliver
products around the globe. Christian was able to profile the impact of
transportation decisions and recommend actionable opportunities to
reduce total transportation costs and improve supply chain
efficiencies," said Marianne McDonald, vice president of global
transportation, Avnet. "Christian is an effective communicator and
innovative problem solver whose data analytics skills help ensure Avnet
delivers the right products at the right time for our customers and
suppliers."
Goehring joined Avnet in 2010 as a technology consultant, responsible
for generating order-specific engineering documentation to aid with
integration services, quoting integration costs to customers, and
developing new quoting tools to increase productivity. He brought his
analytical and technology skills to Avnet's logistics organization in
2013 to design and develop optimal shipping procedures for Avnet's
customers and suppliers.
